What a surreal couple of weeks it has been for us all as we adjust to not being able to play, watch, and support the sport we all love. Wherever you are in the world, I hope that you are managing well with the impact of COVID-19. Throughout all of this, nothing is more important than the health and wellbeing of our Rugby Community and their families.
As you may know, Tulsa’s Safer at Home Order is in place for every Tulsan, prohibiting public events, private events and social gatherings through April 30. The City is following the guidance from the Tulsa Health Department as it relates to any possible re-opening strategies and will announce those as data warrants. Because Tulsa is in the peak contagion period, it’s imperative Tulsans stay home and only go out for necessities needed to survive at home.
Further, USA Rugby has suspended all rugby related activity in the United States indefinitely. It is everyone’s hope that the current pandemic will resolve soon and that rugby will resume. Unfortunately there is no further update to give as we continue to to see how the pandemic will progress. TRFC will continue to remain in contact withlocal and national health authorities to ensure we are making the best decisions as a club for our community during this unprecedented time.
Despite this adversity, we must press on and push through these challenging times. It is my sincere hope that each of us utilize this time to work on ways the club can be useful to the community immediately, as well as develop strategies to ensure our great rugby club has a strong future at the end of this. Look for more info regarding activities the club is participating in during lockdown in our newsletter and through our social media.
If you have any ideas with regards to how the club can help the community or otherwise improve itself during this enforced sabbatical, please don’t hesitate to reach out via email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or give me a call at (918) 344-2212.
Finally, our extreme thanks and gratitude goes out to all those selfless frontline workers who are
doing what they can to make sure we’re all taken care of.
Thank you all for your continued support, I can’t wait to see you at the pitch soon!
