Continuing with their series of moves to help bolster an injury stricken roster late in the season, Rugby United have acquired USA Eagle Chance Wenglewski on loan from new MLR franchise Rugby ATL. At 6’2 255lbs the Oklahoma native is a strong addition to a front row that are starting to feel the grind of the long MLR season.

Wenglewski, who just finished his last season for Lindenwood University and is a current USA Eagle, is one of the USA’s most exciting young prospects at only 21 years old. Despite his youth Wenglewski brings in international experience with both the national side and the USA Selects, as well as a tour to Australia as a collegiate All American. Wenglewski also had the opportunity to compete at the U20 World Cup, not bad for a man who started playing when he was 14.

Joining Rugby ATL in their first MLR campaign next year, Chance will undoubtedly be a point of focus for opposition scouts, but for now, RUNY look to capitalize on having a talent like Chance in the Rooster camp. Manager James English stated: “Chance is one of the up and coming talents in the US and has shown despite his young age that he has the potential to be a world class front row forward, so we are excited to see him contribute to the end of our season.”
