Tulsa Defeats Arkansas Gryphons 28-0
   - Luke Turner

Tulsa RFC travelled to Fayetteville, ARk. this past weekend to take on the Gryphons in the first action of the spring 2010 season.
The rust from the long winter break was evident in the early going as both teams suffered from knock ons and mental errors. Tulsa capitalized on one of these errors from the Gryphons in the 27th minute as Roger Gassett slotted a penalty kick to put Tulsa up 3-0.
Tulsa scored again in the 35th minute with a try from Trevor Taber. The try was setup by the defense as a Gryphon maul was stood up and the ball stripped. Tulsa were off the other way and Taber was in support for a nice team try. Conversion was good by Gassett giving Tulsa a halftime lead of 10-0.
The second half was all Tulsa's as two more tries were scored by wingers Lemeki Batisaresare and Mark Cuenca, as well as two more penalty kicks from Gassett.

Final score Tulsa 28 Gryphons 0

Congratulations to Zach Bible for being selected Man of the Match!

In other news, the Killer B's were very strong in the 2nd match. They looked like the KB's of old, flying around the pitch causing havoc and scoring tries. The final in shortened 2nd match was very close to the final of the first match. Memorable moments were a coast to coast try from Taylor Scheer after kicking out of his own end goal, the hard running of Jon Ide, the goal kicking of Lemeki B. and the tackling of Baraa Mudher. Great job fellas!
